Ah… the smell of springtime is in the air which means spring cleaning is just around the corner. And, what will we do with all with all the stuff we no longer want or need? Well, I’ve researched and found many organizations willing and thankful to accept such “stuff.”

The Salvation Army National Family Stores
When you donate goods to The Salvation Army, those goods are then sold through our Salvation Army Family Stores. The proceeds are used to fund their Adult Rehabilitation Centers. So every donation and every purchase makes a life-changing difference… not just for those in the grip of addiction, but for their families as well.
Pick Up Please
“Never again will one generation of Veterans abandon another.”
One of the most convenient donation pickup services in the country is Pick Up Please. While other major charity organizations require you to schedule your donation pick up weeks in advance, and some of them have stopped offering pick-up service all together, Pick Up Please can pick up your donation within 24 hours in many areas.
Your generous donations and charitable contribution of clothing, household goods, books, shoes, small appliances, electronics, and more make a big difference in the lives of America’s veterans and their families.
Pick Up Please sells your donated household goods and clothing to private companies by annual bid. The items you donate generate the majority of the funding to support the local, state, and national programs of the Vietnam Veterans of America. You can donate in three easy steps.
Leave bags or boxes of your donated items outside your house on the designated day. Label them “VVA Pickup,” so the driver will know what to pick up.
The driver will leave a tax deduction receipt for you, whether you are at home or not. You simply fill it out and apply the appropriate amounts to your next tax return. You get free pick up plus a tax deduction.
Purple Heart Foundation
Purple Heart Foundation pick up service will collect tax-deductible contributions of useable clothing and household items right at your curb. The funds help support Purple Heart Foundation programs and services that aid all veterans and their families.
Also remember your local shelters and churches accept donations too. Let something you don’t want or need any more be something someone else does and help support your community!
